In addition learn the kayaking basics and have a blast running the Apurimac River rapids!
DAY 1: We depart from Cusco at 9 am and start a 2 hour drive to get to Cunyac. There we will had you the gear and equipment and begin this adventure. 1st we will walk a few minutes until the top of the waterfall, then we will start rappelling through it. This experience will take around 2 ½ hours which leave us enough time to arm ourselves with courage and jump from the famous 82ft tall Cunyac’s bridge.
Having fulfilled our need for adrenaline, we will drive down to the famous thermo-medicinal springs of Cconoc, located right next to the great Apurimac River to have a comforting and delicious lunch. After that you can relax in the hot springs.
DAY 2:Today we will wake up at 8 and have breakfast. Then we will get in a flat section of the river to learn basic paddling techniques, such as: supports, ferry angle, taking an eddy, forward and backward paddling, etc. in order to be able to maneuver the kayak. Later on, we will have a well-deserved lunch by the river. To finish our training day we will start practicing the "Skimo-Roll" in the warm thermal pools where afterwards you can relax. (The "Skimo-Roll" is the maneuver that allows us to return the kayak to its normal position whenever it flips).
DAY 3: Today, the adventure begins at 8 in the morning. We will have a very energetic breakfast and have a quick practice session of the "Skimo-roll". After that, we will run a fun class 2+ and III section of the Apurimac River where we will apply our learned skills. This section takes approximately 2 hours, after which we will have lunch and after a 2 hour drive to Cuzco we will be arriving at around 4 pm.
